Movement Connection
"Movement never lies. It is a barometer telling the state of the soul's weather to all who can read it." -Martha Graham
In my teachings and my choreography, I aim to guide students to understand movements from its essence - the idea or emotion. I believe that it is important that students, from a young age should learn to connect with dance and movements in it's original form, in all it's honesty and purity.
In this approach, I aim to connect with students on a deep, emotional and existential level, by understanding people through deep empathy and entering meditative states.
Through this level of connection, I encourage my students to connect with themselves and others in the same way - to understand, accept and learn about their inner selves, their body, their mind and their emotions, and develop deep connections and awareness of others and their surroundings.
I believe that, inside everyone, lies a potential of connection, awareness, and flow, which will in turn develop into movement creation, a process that is healing, calming, enriching and invigorating.
In the process, we learn and explore body language, movements and its principles, express ideas and feelings, as well as respond to others and cues.
“Dance is the hidden language of the soul”
